Surgery

Well, it looks like our little boy is going to have surgery.

When he was a little tiny baby his umbilical cord didn't heal right and he had an umbilical hernia. That has since healed, but it left a little growth on it, called and umbilical granuloma. It has to be removed surgically because it now has skin over it and it might break open as he grows and get infected.

I'm pretty nervous about it, but, like anything else, it has to get done, so we'll get through it.

We're going to wait until January to do it, so I have a little more time to get used to the idea.

He was so good at the surgeon's office today. He's such a fun little guy. =)

Playgroup

We had playgroup at our house yesterday. It was so much fun. Now that most of them are toddlers, it's just wonderful chaos! There were pots and pans everywhere, kids running up and down the hall, musical toys overlapping each other, kids screaming, moms laughing...it was paradise.

I'm so glad I found MOMs club. I don't know how I would fill my weeks without it. The women in it are the key to my sanity, and have become some of my best friends.

I love hosting playgroup, and I think James does too =)

What a year it has been

My, oh, my, has it been a great year. Our lives have changed so much. This time last year, I was still pregnant with our soon to be one year old. I can't believe he's going to be one in almost a month.

I thought I'd start a blog, more as a way to look back over the years to remember what we've done and how our lives change. I also hope it gives a little bit of news to our friends and family who live far away.

So here's to this past year, and to many years to come.
